BCITO CALLS ON EMPLOYERS

‘Train a BCITO apprentice today’

The building and construction sector needs more skilled workers, and as “New Zealand’s leading sector training provider”, BCITO is calling on employers. Now is the time to review your training programme, so the sector can continue to deliver the homes, schools, and hospitals the country needs.

“According to the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, there is a steady pipeline of work for our sector,” says Greg Durkin, director at BCITO.

“We want all employers to consider how they can support their team. Too often people only contemplate apprenticeships – which are important, but we also need to ensure our existing workforce stays up to date.”

BCITO provides a full range of training options – from new apprenticeships through to micro-credentials. While there have been ongoing changes within the vocational training landscape, BCITO has remained a steady training partner.

“BCITO has shown its ability to provide consistent hands-on support during all the ups and downs of the vocational reforms. BCITO apprentices are trained and supported to come up to speed, so they add value to your business from the outset,” says Durkin.

BCITO’s training model allows employers to focus solely on the apprentices’ practical skills, this means no book work for you. All assessments are managed through BCITO and a dedicated training advisor who visits your apprentice regularly.

Durkin says BCITO has been dedicated to the industry for over 30 years and continues to train record numbers of apprentices.

“Our sector now needs more skilled and willing employers to shape the next generation of qualified professionals. Will you be the next BCITO employer?”
