The City Housing team provides rental housing to low income families or individuals whose needs are not met by the private sector housing market. The team is Council’s social housing provider, one of New Zealand’s largest landlords and a lead player in the Council’s vision of “All Wellingtonians Well Housed.” We provide housing to over 3000 people in 1931 homes across Pōneke and our proud of the service we provide to our tenants and the wider community.
We are developing the second phase of a 20 year $400M programme of improvements for 1000 properties across our social housing portfolio whilst continuing to provide safe, modern accommodation for those we have already upgraded. Throughout this project, the welfare of our tenants is extremely important, and this role is part of a team approach, focused on the leadership and operational management of City Housing assets, valued at over $600M. You will also be responsible for the successful delivery of the Healthy Homes Standards across our total portfolio which is well underway.
The position leads both the Capital Works and Facilities Management teams and will be responsible for the delivery of all projects and programmes relating to these critical areas. To be successful in the role you will need both proven experience and knowledge of project management methodologies, facilities management and strategic asset management and programming. You need to ensure that practices are consistent with the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to demonstrate this. Experience within the social housing and/or local Government sectors are desirable.
