The past year has marked the introduction of several new fire-stopping brands to Firestop Centre’s range of solutions, including the addition of Agnitek, an Australian-owned and based manufacturer of passive fire protection systems.
Agnitek’s credo, ‘More tested Agni-systems equals more reliable fire-rated systems’, aligns with the growing compliance scrutiny of the passive fire industry and Firestop Centre’s commitment to provide compliant fire-rated solutions.
Firestop Centre’s director Greg Hand first encounter with the Agni brand was serendipitous, taking place in a fire-testing laboratory filled with Agni products awaiting certification, which immediately sparked the idea of distribution in Hand’s mind.
“The passive fire protection industry is challenging, demanding significant resources, technical expertise, and rigorous R&D/certification fire testing. Though, such efforts always lead to innovative, reliable, high-performing systems,” says Hand.
Agnitek has accumulated significant fire performance data, which has allowed continuous design improvements, and the development of more Agni systems tailored for the New Zealand markets.
One of Agnitek’s standout contributions is its one roll covers all approach — non-diameter-specific fire-stopping that simplifies the installation process and makes it cost-effective.
A notable innovation is the Agni-Sleeve system, a more advanced fire-stopping solution for ComFlor and concrete floor or ceiling.
“Traditional ComFlor solutions often prove bulky and challenging to install from below. In contrast, Agni-Sleeve systems are versatile, allowing installation from either above or below — a significant advantage for projects with restricted access. The installation from below of the ComFlor system doesn’t require any fire-rated board but Agni-Sleeve and mineral wool backing only.”
Agni products are now stocked at the Penrose Firestop Centre warehouse and available throughout New Zealand.
“Agnitek’s commitment to innovation and reliability makes it a valuable addition to Firestop Centre’s lineup. It addresses industry needs with practical, cost-effective solutions for passive fire protection.”
